Last semester, I interned with the Maricopa County Green Government Program. Jonce Walker, who is the Sustainability Manager, was my supervisor. I heard about the Maricopa County GGP at a luncheon I attended a few semesters ago. The Second Annual EcoAid Luncheon persisted of careers focusing on different aspects of sustainability where four different panelists, Mr. Walker included, spoke about their careers and answered a few questions about sustainability within their careers. I emailed Mr. Walker a few months later about possibly getting an internship with GGP. I interviewed and got the position along with another ASU student. It was a great opportunity from which a learned a great deal and meet very bright people.
Hi Liliana,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your last semester! It sounds like you have gained a lot of experience during your internship. I look forward to reading your future posts. I do not know too much about the Maricopa County Green Government Program, but I look forward to learning about it through your posts!
Hi Lili,
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know we had this class together! I totally need to hook you up with my sister still so you can talk to her about environmental policy. She is at MIIS and loving it. It would be good to pick her brain the next time she is here. Maybe around graduation? We still need to get lunch soon and get ready to bedazzle our caps! I am so excited. It cannot come soon enough. It sounds like your internship was interesting. Aimee did an internship with the Green Chamber of Commerce and loved it. I can’t wait to hear more!
Lili!
ReplyDeleteInternship sounds like it was very beneficial and right in line with your major/sustainability, that must have been why I kept running into you studying at the library on all those late nights, because the internship was taking up all your time! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts, and I'll see you in class next Thurs!
