This week I volunteered at the Career Fair in downtown for a few hours. It was interesting to see how different it was than the one held in Tempe. Downtown's was definitely much smaller, but also had employers that pertained to the downtown colleges instead of a general population of professions. I noticed that in the lobby there was a booth that would review your resume. I'm curious to find if students found that helpful. Did any of you go to the Career Fair? What did you think of it?
The career fair sounds like a great oppurtunity to really get a feel for what the "real world" market is like. I did not attend this career fair but do have plans on attending one on the Downtown campus. I like how you said it was smaller and more directed towards the downtown campus schools. I defintitely look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like his was a good experience and I am glad that the potential employers were catered to the programs that are offered at the downtown campus. What were some of the more interesting opportunities that you noticed.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that the downtown campus career fairs are a lot smaller- however, I always wondered if the quality of the job opportunities were better. I have never been to a career fair at ASU but I have heard good things
